Coorabakh National Park, Moorland
Coorabakh National Park is best known for its impressive volcanic outcrops - Big Nellie, Little Nellie and Flat Nellie and the Lansdowne Escarpment. The scenic forest drive is a loop road and it is recommended to do this drive from north to south due to more favourable road grades. The drive includes numerous lookout spots, cliffs, picnic areas, mountain views and eucalyptus forests with some rainforests.

Crowdy Head Beaches

Crowdy Head Road, Crowdy Head
Crowdy Head Beaches includes the North Beach and the South Beach. At the North Beach there is no overcrowding and out of holiday periods you can have parts of the beach all to yourself. This is a well protected beach, excellent for families. The Surf Lifesaving Club overlooks the beach and patrols operate during the summer months. Four wheel drive beach access is available near the Surf Lifesaving Club. There is a kiosk, cold outdoor shower and toilet facilities. Picnic area with barbecues and picnic tables are nearby.

Crowdy Head Lighthouse

Crowdy Head
Located just 33 kilometres north east of Taree on the Mid North Coast is the historic Crowdy Head Lighthouse which was designed and erected in 1878 - 1879 as one of only five small lighthouses built on the NSW coast. The information board provides extensive information about the history of the lighthouse.

Diamond Beach is located in the Hallidays Point area, halfway between Forster and Taree. This quiet beach area is ideal for relaxing strolls. It is also a popular spot for board riders. Car parking is available at Diamond Drive, entry to the beach.

Ellenborough Falls

Bulga Plateau (Via Elands), Elands
Located on the Bulga Plateau at Elands, one hour's drive NorthWest of Taree on Tourist Drive 8, Ellenborough Falls are a spectacular site. At 200 metres, it is one the longest single drop waterfalls in the Southern Hemisphere. A timbered walkway (641 steps) to the bottom of the falls with rest spots on the way provides a comfortable 30 minute walk. There is also a 10 minute walk to The Knoll where there are magnificent views looking directly across to the falls.
Accessible at all times. A kiosk operates on weekends and during school holidays. Detour signage is in place but if you are touring with a caravan or trailer, you may leave them at the Wingham Showground on Gloucester Road, Wingham (fees apply).
